1. C&I Art School (Prior to name change). Reduced version of subway poster, 1955–1956.
2. Louis Glanzman exhibit; announcement 1956.
3. Eugene Karlin exhibit; announcement 1956.
4. Reduced version of subway poster 1956 announcing name change to School of Visual Arts. Despite the
potential for typographic play this sVA logo treatment was short lived. It was quickly apparent that with
our limited budget it was too difficult to establish the initials simultaneously with the new name.
5. New ID applied to [pay-] check.
6. Catalog cover (image adapted from poster).
7. Advertisement (ear), 1959.
8. Advertisement (birds), 1961.
9. Advertisement ("Every Wall is a Door" (egg)), 1961.
10. Advertisement (forest), 1960.
11. Advertisement ("The Heart Has Its Own Reasons"), 1962.
12. Advertisement ("Inside the Studios"), early 1960s.
13. what where why catalog cover, 2006 (adapted from poster).
14. SVA computer store, 2008; logo and mailing label.
15–22. Stationery, a sampling.
23. [Pay] Check.
24. Large envelope and mailing label. The traditional ‘corner card’ return address on kraft envelopes has
been eliminated to avoid redundancy when the mailing label is placed on the envelope. Instead, a slightly
smaller facsimile of the label has been imprinted on the envelope containing a space for hand addressing
or small addressograph labels. - ID
