James McMullan has created many memorable book jackets but my favorites are among this gorgeous series for Jorge Luis Borges works published by E.P. Dutton, which depart somewhat from McMullan’s realism for a dreamier style. The printed jackets are no substitute for the beautiful original art, shown here.
